HAPPY PEOPLE electronic pop duo from the Canary Islands

Formed by José de la Cruz (Santa Cruz de la Palma) and Héctor Camps (Barcelona) it is the evolution of the Sex Shop Voice, after their keyboardist, Paco García, left the band, leaving behind the backfire and hooligantronics to evolve towards elegantronic .

It takes its name from a 2020 Pet Shop Boys song, in a clear nod to one of their reference bands.

They present themselves this 2023 with the album ARAOMAI, which consists of 12 songs in Spanish and a bonus track. Elegant dance music with influences from the music of the 80s and 90s.

The album was recorded during the spring and summer of 2022 with Ángel Riba Pla (Pastora/Catcomplex DJ group) in his studio in Artés (Barcelona).

The name of the album is a declaration of intent: “Ahora o Nunca” (ARA O MAI in Catalan and written together).

The theme chosen for the first video clip is the bonus track, which is a Catalan version of the theme CADAQUÉS included on the album, and is sung as a duet with the singer-songwriter Israel Durán (Esplugas de Llobregat). It is a tribute to the town of Hector’s paternal grandfather.
