Vegueta’s Market

It is the oldest market of the town.

Located in the best preserved historic center of the capital of Gran Canaria, in its Historic Center, the Neighbourhood of Vegueta, where past and present unite. 

A visit to the Market takes us back to our childhood, to our traditions:

the scents, the bright colours of the fruit, the sound, the singing of the classic shopkeeper.

It takes us back to the most romantic past and gives us the feeling we use to have when we went shopping with our family.

It has a free parking lot and shopping carts for a more comfortable shopping.

Location: St/ Mendizábal, nº 1. District of Vegueta – Cono Sur – Tafira.

Timetable: From Mondays to Thursdays, from 07:00 to 14:00 o’clock. Fridays, Saturdays and holidays, from 07:00 to 14:30.

– Market of the Port

It has a privileged location, as it is very close to Las Canteras beach, next to the area of La Puntilla and popular neighbourhood of La Isleta.

Its original modernist building was built with wrought iron in 1891 and remodelled in 1994. 

Currently, Port of La Luz’ Market has begun its renovation with the goal of turning into a gastronomic and entertainment model of the city, as apart from the selling of traditional products, it also has establishments where you may buy our try local and international products.

It is a warm space where you can do your everyday shopping and participate in cultural activities, taste, stroll or have some drinks.

Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00 to 15:00.

Sales and Tasting Establishments:

Tuesday to Thursday from 10:00 to 16:00 and from 20:00 to 24:00.

Sundays from 12:00 to 20:00

– Altavista

This market is in the high part of the city, offering without a doubt, the best views of the city. It is a real popular market, and as the others, it has a surprising variety of the best quality local products and above all, the meat and fish establishments with competitive prices. The selling of ready meals is another of its characteristics, as well as having an easy parking spot.

Remember that if you visit the market with kids, in front of it, you can find a playpen.

– Mercado Central

The Central market is located in the commercial area of Mesa y Lopez, it is the biggest of the four markets of the city, with an area of 6.036.031 m2, distributed between two floors and a commercial gallery. It always invites you to let yourself go by the local products, the special flavours, that unforgettable moment we share as a family.

The essence of this Market resides in the interior, with its varied establishment, its KM0 products and its quality.
