Amor profundo (Deep love) is the meaning of our name: Maday, because everything we do comes from our hearts.
Maday is a project that was originated after becoming aware of the abandoned land in Canarias, and the need of a lot of families with a risk of social exclusion due to the scarcity of economic means.
In Maday we create chances for the future.
We contribute to the development of families with a risk of social exclusion so they can ease their situation.
We work with the belief that a fairer and more equitable society must also empower the poorest people.
To fulfil that purpose, we revitalise agro-social spaces through the ecologic plantation of abandoned land, we carry out educational workshops and we make information material.
All with the goal of creating a self-sufficient food space, building solidary networks and promoting a more respectful world with the environment and the society.
The thing that motivates us the most is the donation of part of the harvest to the people who need it the most, and through the formation, help them be self-sufficient so they can grow their own food.
In addition, with the care of the previously abandoned areas, we are giving them a new life and helping fight the climate change.
On the other hand, everyone will be able to purchase the rest of the harvest.
You will enjoy a local product, respectful with the people and the environment, ecological, km0, healthy and free of chemicals, that is planted with transparency, empathy, understanding, empowerment and inclusion.
For us it is also very important the spreading of information about various topics like the circular economy, the sustainability, the food and energy sovereignty, like the natural cosmetic and the healthy habits.
We want this information to reach everyone.
Maday is a team formed by the founders, the workers, the beneficiaries and the voluntaries. This initiative is possible thanks to their participation.
