Culture is a growing procees, not commodity

“If you have a piece of bread and I have 1€, and if I buy you that piece of bread, I’ll have a piece of bread and you’ll have 1€. There will be a balance in that exchange; that is A have 1€ and B have a piece of bread, and then B have a piece of bread and A have 1€.

This is a perfect balance.

But If you have Verlaine’s sonnet, or the Pythagora’s theorem and I have nothing, and then you teach me them, at the end of that exchange I’ll know the theorem and the sonnet, and you’ll preserve it.

In the first case, there is balance.

That is a commodity.

The second thing is a growing process.
