“Miren Steel” is the perfect pledge between an artistic nickname and her surnames from Italy and the Vasc Country
Paola Miren Stillitani Mugica
She was born in Calabria (Italy) in 1986 and she grew up travelling all along her childhood, adding a mixture of music, tastes and traditions in her yet interesting own crossbreed origin.
She’s been a muralist since she was two years old and she spent her childhood and her adulthood considering her art as a form of therapy, not knowing if this artistic expression was a cure or an illness to herself.
This questions went around her head until the last days of college
One of those days, she left her Law and International Relations Degree out and she travelled to Spain. She started her career as a teacher and she realised art was not only a hobby but a part of her life. She needed to include it into her day-to-day
And she did it
She moved out to Gran Canaria to start a whole new life and to free all her ambitions: illustration, collage, tattooing, improving her own apprenticeship and her languages skills.
Eventually and after multiple inner fights, she realised that not focusing her life into a certain field is not a weakness, but an opportunity. It wasn’t a problem of attendance or gratitude, it was simply her way of being.
From this “knowledge nomadism”, surged the idea of funding Knowmadink, an artistic space shared with her partner Galgo where she developed her multiple creative sides.
From the first time we met her, we noticed her artistic power. She’s a pure positive energy and, most of all she is not afraid of anything… She’s pure art.
Thank you Miren for being among us, people like you make our life and our job way easier.
