FIMAR: appointment with leisure at the Santa Catalina Pier

The International Sea Fair celebrates its eleventh edition in 2022 with a renewed spirit and the support of a trajectory that confirms it as one of the great events of the maritime sector in the Canary Islands and its Atlantic region of influence. FIMAR is celebrated on May 20th, 21st and 22nd, also as one of the events recognized by the European Union within the celebration of the European Maritime Day (May 20th), and with special attention to the projection of surfing and sliding sports as sectors likely to contribute to the economic development of Gran Canaria.

The location of this edition of the fair will be located within the port area of ​​Las Palmas, in the cruise terminal of the Santa Catalina dock: a space in which FIMAR will make its debut with its usual presence of exhibitors (companies and institutions) and a large schedule of leisure activities for the general public.

On these dates, families have the opportunity to come to FIMAR to enjoy baptisms of the sea, maritime routes, activities on its sheet of water and other recreational proposals that also reflect the connection of the maritime sector and the blue economy with a city and an island. who live turned to the Atlantic.

In this line, the International Sea Fair will offer in its program educational sessions and actions, face-to-face and online, which underline the informative nature of the event, which this year expands its insular scope. Thanks also to the direct involvement of municipalities such as Gáldar and Santa Lucía de Tirajana, which have already positioned themselves as outstanding locations for wave sports.

FIMAR 2002 is an event promoted by the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and Puertos de Las Palmas, and organized by the Department of Ciudad de Mar de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Canary Islands Trade Fair Institution (INFECAR )
