The Scientific and Cultural Association of the Ateneo de Las Palmas is born
The Scientific and Cultural Association of the Ateneo de Las Palmas is a provincial, free, independent, non-partisan, non-denominational and plural cultural association, which aims to convey culture through citizen participation, attached to the neighborhoods, and the sum of cross sections.
It is composed and distributed, in parity and equity between professional men and women of the sector they represent in their position, by a Board of Directors, formed by an Honorary Presidency, an Executive Presidency, a Vice-Presidency, a Director, a Treasury and a Secretary; and the following Sections and subsections will function to carry out their activities:
• Science and Technology (Health and Related Sciences).
• Arts (Fine Arts and Architecture, Music, Theater and Dance, Heritage).
• Humanities (Literature, Psychology and Philosophy).
• Social Sciences (Geography and History, Education, Economics and Entrepreneurship, and International Relations and Political Science).
• Organization (Social Action, Communication, Publications and Cultural Dissemination, Solidarity, Citizen Participation).
It aims to create meeting spaces to generate projects or creative links, encourage the birth of associations, initiatives or execution of communities and individuals, with special attention to the ideas and talent of young people, and carry out cross-cutting activities.
The association was born with a provincial vocation and aims to develop the cultural activity of the Canary Islands under the values of digitization, interaction, dialogue, participation, interdisciplinarity and commitment.
