The island of Gran Canaria opens professional film sets

The facilities are centered on two large independent studios of 6,000 square meters for film and television recordings, with which the island aspires to consolidate itself as a benchmark in the audiovisual sector.

The production companies will be able to use it from January 1 by renting the facilities managed by the SPEGC and the Gran Canaria Film Commission.

The two new sets are located in the Infecar facilities.

Having professional studios for indoor filming complements the diversity of outdoor settings and locations that the island already has and, consequently, the possibilities to access other production niches demanded by the audiovisual market. In addition, they add to the tax advantages that the Canary Islands have for audiovisual productions.

Likewise, the significant growth that the sector has experienced in recent years, including relevant impacts on employment and hiring, many of them in professional specialties that did not exist on the island six years ago.
