NOMADS: IN LATIN NOMAS, ADIS. 

TAKEN BY THE GREEK NOMAS, ADOS, WHO USE TO OFTENLY MOVES AROUND TRYING TO FIND NEW PASTURE LOCATIONS. 

Past habits have come back to stay, or maybe concepts from the past in the way we perform our professional activities… digital nomads. The etimologic concept defines this term as “a person or animal who usually travels to find a new pasture location”, this new concept changes the “pastures” for “working”. Travelling for new types of business or to create new opportunities changing concepts or shapes gives us the freedom to make any part of the world, our work place. 

New technologies and the new vision of the future has increased the possibilities of the employment market where plenty of enterprises and businesses use this model of working to their employees, this is not a simple trend, it will stay permanently.

The term Digital Nomad covers a huge group of professionals as programmers, graphic designers, digital marketing, translators, coaching, counselors, yoga instructors… and so on. We can find a huge amount of professions which are taking advantage of living all around the world and the freedom to establish their own office in a place with better weather or better opportunities for a short or long term season. 

Inside the Digital Nomadism’s universe coexists another concept: MINIMALISM. This consist in reducing everything superfluous and taking the essential stuff, this can be resumed as a philosophical concept “the less, the better” attributed to the architect Mies Van de Rohe. The term was also explained for the very first time by the english philosopher Richard Wollheim to define the Ad Reinhardt’s paintings. The les baggage, the better for any nomad. The work of a digital nomad is based on using plenty of digital sources and webs and self-learning is almost an obligation as his own development. It’s important for them, of course, to learn the traditions and the culture for any place they will stay.

Nomad, wandering, migratory, transhumance… there’s a lot of definitions which come together in a simple idea of Independence and freedom. Welcome digital Tuaregs.
